Telford based robotic & automation systems integrator, Bauromat UK Limited, is proud to confirm that following the installation of a recent robotic welding system, the customer has seen a time saving of 65%

The system, which features a KUKA KR6 R1820 robot and Fronius TPS 400i weld set, was installed in Northern Ireland manufacturer KME last month and in changing the process from manual to automated, the cycle has saved nearly 5 minutes.

In what was usually a MIG welding cycle of between 6-8 minutes, the robot can do provide a more consistent finish in around 2 minutes, allowing the customer to produce more products and at a higher quality.

What’s more, the has allowed KME  to offer its staff the opportunity learn new skills and become robotic programmers and technicians.

“The results don’t surprise as we know that automation always shows improvements” said Bauromat Managing Director John D’Angelillo

“We were approached by KME who were finding it difficult to source skilled workers and in working with them, we’ve not only introduced them to their first automated system, but the benefits it can have too."

The order for the robotic welding system followed a series of trials that Bauromat performed in-house, on behalf of KME, which gave the Northern Irish manufacturer the opportunity to see a robot in action and to refine the process.

Bauromat continues to be the ideal place to start if you’re interested in introducing automation to your manufacturing processes and even offers a £45,000 (£200/week) HiArc Compact starter welding cell for those with smaller budgets, looking to invest in automation.

If you think automation is for you; you want to save time, improve productivity and gain a more skilled workforce, than what are you waiting for?
